Kitty Hawk, North Carolina is an adorably cute little coastal town. This quaint little town completed beach nourishment in 2017 and has some of the most laid-back and beautiful beaches on the coast. Here you can find great restaurants and little dive bars packed with locals. With beach parking being completely free in specific lots and on many side streets, access is easy for beach go-ers! This is a great family friendly place to be.
Be sure to take the family to John’s Drive In. There’s nothing better in the world than a fresh dolphin boat and a mint chocolate chip milk-shake after a day on the beach. We love John's because it's so consistent! We can order fish, hot dogs and shakes and when we leave, everyone has a full tummy and everyone is ready for a little nap before evening festivities commence! With tons of food options and milk-shake flavors, everyone will love it!
Art's Place is a great local hang out. They are a no-frills, come as you are kind of place with cold beer, amazing views and they serve up the best burger you have ever had!

Hurricane Mo's is locally famous for the cheapest and best happy hour specials on the beach. We’re talking wings, shrimp and tacos which are all delicious and such a great price!
When you visit Kitty Hawk make sure you sneak in a date night at The Black Pelican! We frequent this restaurant for it’s delicious food and unique history! The Wright Brothers sent their famous telegram from this very building announcing that they had achieved flight! Equally as special, we celebrate ALL of our baby Christenings, birthdays and anniversaries here too! ;) Jason is crazy about their Frogmore Clambake and I never stray from ordering their Pecan Crusted Mahi Mahi. Upscale food in a laid back environment, almost like it was made for us!
We love the Rundown Cafe for their chilled noodle bowls and amazing views of the ocean and sunset in the Summer. Their outdoor roof deck is the perfect place to relax and listen to life music after a day in the waves! My go-to is the CocoLoco Chicken Salad and their Crack Dip! You will know why they call it Crack Dip within seconds of tasting it! ;)
Trio Wine, Beer and Cheese is the perfect girls night out or couples night. With great live music nightly and awesome wine tasting machines, they have something for everyone! My girlfriends and I love to grab a panini and a bottle of wine and sit in the cozy loft area as often as possible! All the wine and cheese you can dream of!
Bad Bean Baja Grill is your go-to for margaritas and Cali-style burritos, wraps, and tacos. I love the Baja Salad and Jason is pretty consistent about ordering the Baja Burger. It's all fresh and De-Lish!
If you are looking for great take out look no further than Vilai Thai. We take advantage of their local delivery more often than I care to admit! Their Drunken Noodles and Red Chicken Curry are to die for!

We do our best to shop local as often as possible. Our go-to surf shop is WRV Kitty Hawk. We love that they have a wide range of sizes from babies to adult and a wide range of pricing so you can fit any budget. This is a great spot to get a souvenir or a T-shirt to take back home.
