Nags Head is a beautiful beach town located towards the South of the Outer Banks. This unique place can either be the best party town or the most comforting family atmosphere. With Nags Head being such a large strip of the Outer Banks, there really is something for everyone. With million dollar oceanfront homes and tiny beach boxes on the same block, the possibilities are endless! You'll love the laid back vibe, the amazing food and the outdoor adventure around every corner! You're going to love spending your time in Nags Head. So many of the weekly-rental beach houses have state of the art kitchens but don't let that keep you from trying some of the award winning restaurants in Nags Head!

THE BEST IN DINING

We love Waveriders Cafe for the best coffee on the Outer Banks and the yummiest breakfast sandwich, I love the "Hank!" They have amazing smoothies too that every kiddo will love!

Sam & Omie's has the best traditional bacon and eggs on the beach road! You'll want to eat here more than once!

The Spot is famous for the Acai Bowls and our oldest kiddo can't get enough of them! I honestly think they should rename "The Avalon" after Joey!

The best takeout in Nags Head can be found at Austin's Fish Company. Between a fried soft-shell and the BeachCombers Bucket you are sure to leave happy!

You can also grab take-out at It's All Gravy Italian Market. We love doing "Italian Night" with their home-made lasagna that we can cook at home!

Nags Head Pizza Company is not only delicious but the secret message in your pizza box is one of a kind and will make you feel like a million bucks!

Blue Moon Beach Grille has the freshest food and seafood! We can't get enough of the seared sea scallops with thai chili! Yum!

We have had so many great meals at Cafe Lachine! This was the first restaurant that we tried when we moved to the Outer Banks years ago and the owners are incredible people! My #1 pregnancy craving (and daily craving) is their Buffalo Chicken Wrap.

Our favorite Nags Head date night is Owen's Restaurant! We love that they started out as a hotdog stand in 1946 and have become such a long-standing Outer Banks tradition. You have to try the Carolina Shrimp & Grits!

Our favorite place to grab a beer and a sandwich is Tortuga's Lie! Their bar atmosphere is so laid-back and the service and kindness of the bartenders is top-notch!

We love sitting on the deck at the Nags Head Fishing Pier on the brightly colored furniture and grabbing some wings and shrimp dip with friends. If you spend your afternoon fishing on the pier and clean your catch, they will cook it up for you! They have an amazing breakfast menu too!

Venture a little farther South and you will find another amazing pier with a similar vibe. FishHeads is a local favorite with an incredible happy hour (.15 shrimp!) and some of the best live music on the beach! Of course, it's accompanied by the sound of the waves breaking beneath the pier!

When it comes to dessert look no-further than Surfin' Spoon! Locally owned by the greatest people; not only is the fro-yo out of this world, it's a feel good purchase because the people that own the 'spoon and the people that work there are INCREDIBLE!

SHOP SMALL - SHOP LOCAL

Secret Spot Surf is the best little surf shop in Nags Head! We can't get over how many amazing brands they have to offer! We love that they offer all sizes from little ones to adult!
If you didn't grab a t-shirt from Brew Thru, did you even come to the Outer Banks? We love that they roll out a new design every year!

Kitty Hawk Kites is a great store with everything from clothing, toys and shoes to... you guessed it, kites! This is your one stop shop in Nags Head for souvenirs!

I'm going commercial on you for a minute! We do love the Tanger Outlets! Maybe you were able to snag a last-minute family portrait session with 12th Street Portraits and now you're searching for something to wear! The Tanger Outlets Nags Head has some great stores like Gap, J.Crew and Carter's!

The Seagreen Gallery is not only one of our favorite places to shop, it's our favorite place to go to stroll through and show the kiddos all of the different ways that art is great!

Be the good

Always leave a town better than you found it! Check out the Outer Banks Relief Foundation for a great way to give back to local Outer Banks folks! We absolutely love this organization!
