Bucket List - September 2018 List

THE SEPTEMBER REPORT

Check out our insider scoop on what's going on

here on The Outer Banks in SEPTEMBER!

You won't want to miss any of these hot

NEW events, businesses and experiences!

Go ahead and add them all to your OBX Bucket List!

HEALTH

One of my favorite things about the Outer Banks is that even though it's a small beach with a quaint coastal vibe, we have amazing events that are so unique! All Summer we have been so busy but my girlfriends and I have been talking about trying out Beer Yoga at the Outer Banks Brewing Station and we're stoked that it's still going on this September! Enjoy a yoga class followed by a cold, local brew for $15. Join Nessa for Beer Yoga on Sundays and Thursdays throughout September.

EVENT

The Throwdown North of Town Surf Classic is an event that doesn't require any introduction! This amazing surf contest is held right in Southern Shores and benefits a new charity each year based on need. We love that we can see the fundraising benefit a family right here in our community and that they are open about their mission to bring others to Christ through surfing. From the tiniest of surfers to the seasoned pros, this is an event that you don't want to miss! Check this event out on September 15th and you'll be sure to have it on your bucket list for years to come!

ART

Presented by the Dare County Arts Council and Cucalorus out of Wilmington comes Surfalorus! This film festival is a unique way to enjoy the creative talents of folks like Chris Hannant and Logan Marshall while enjoying films all weekend long. Check out Surfalorus the weekend of September 20-22nd! We're making it a date night for sure!

SHOP

If you're anything like me, you reserve your visits to Corolla for the off season and since it is officially September, Corolla is calling! I can't wait to get into the brand new Altwood location in the historic village of Corolla. Something about the pending Fall season makes me want to snag all of her amazing throw pillows and blankets to cozy up with while burning the heavenly sage bundles that they sell. I can't wait to hit up Altwood this week!

EAT

FreshFit Cafe is celebrating their grand opening this month and I couldn't be more excited about this awesome new breakfast and lunch spot in Nags Head. My kiddos are all smoothie fanatics so I know that these awesome, healthy options are going to be a huge hit for all of us. Since we spend a lot of time in Nags Head for early morning soccer practices and workouts, we are so excited to try out a new spot for breakfast with the entire family!

PLAY

We all know and love the Lost Colony because of the amazing theater but this month we can head on over for an amazing day of food, wine and great friends. The Lost Colony Wine and Culinary Festival is back for it's second year and you can enjoy local island faire, great wine and the view will take your breath away! Come on out to The Lost Colony on September 29th.

STAY

There is something so magical about the off season on the Outer Banks. Whether you are thinking about coming down for a long weekend or you're looking to take a night off and relax after a busy season here on the beach, Waterman's Retreat is my favorite September spot! I love that the waves are still warm on the oceanside and the view of the sunset from Waterman's cannot be beat!

There is seriously so much going on on the Outer Banks in September that you might just want to stay an extra week! Go ahead, you know you want to! Fewh! There are so many amazing things that you won't want to miss here on the Outer Banks this month! We'll have sneak peeks of them all on our Instagram page in our stories throughout the month!
