A Pizza Party Fit For Lulu

We had the best birthday celebration for our sweet Lulu! Our tiny girl is officially 2! Seemingly overnight her hair doubled in length and she started putting words together. She loves to say things like, “Me too” and “I’m ready!” Her birthday is December 30th so it always seems near impossible to put a real party together because of the busyness of the holidays. Penny has been hyping up the whole “birthday” idea this year and she has been teaching Lulu how to blow out candles for weeks. Thus, she was pretty excited about her birthday this year so I wanted to make sure she knew it was her special day and that is was different from Christmas.

There are two things that make our Lulu girl happy. She loves horses and pizza. So naturally, her birthday needed to include both! The Outer Banks is a special place. Within minutes of posting on my personal Facebook account that we were looking for some horses to meet we had the sweetest offer from another local mama to meet some of the rehabilitated wild horses from our Corolla herd. We jumped at the chance to meet Spanish mustangs! Lulu was thrilled and spent the morning of her 2nd birthday petting and feeding the sweetest horses. This was the true icing on the cake for our little birthday girl.

Sweet little Lulu sure worked up an appetite so we headed to her favorite lunch spot. As a big 2 year old, she was easily able to tell us exactly what she wanted for lunch by putting together a few of her newly found words. “Pizza Pweeeease.”

We hit our favorite pizza place, Southern Shores Pizza and said hello to our buddy Colby before ordering pretty much one of everything from their expansive menu. We love this local spot for subs, pizza, salads and wings! I love that our kiddos are so at home when we dine at Southern Shores Pizza and that no matter how many flat pennies that our own Penny makes, she is always excited to make one more!

Our Lulu had the best 2nd birthday a girl could ask for and we are just so grateful to be her parents! Obviously Southern Shores Pizza is Outer Banks Mom Approved! They’re squeaky clean, consistently delicious, kind-hearted and always so happy when a customer walks in their door.

Lulu’s birthday is the true cap to our year. After all of the holiday hustle and birthday fun we are all pretty whooped so being able to pick up delicious salads from Southern Shores Pizza for dinner has come in pretty handy this week as we all adjusted to back to school and work schedules! I hope y’all had a fabulous holiday season!
